Abstract:
Within the framework of the developed by us cluster theory, relations are obtained to calculate the heat capacity differences and the elastic characteristics of monoatomic and organic liquids along the saturation line and under the conditions of hydrostatic compression. The proposed function of the cluster distribution over the number of constituent particles makes it possible, without using the radial distribution function (RDR) and the inter-molecular interaction potential (IIP), to calculate the configuration component of the liquid entropy and to estimate the cluster part in the difference between the isobaric and isochoric heat capacity. A relation has been is obtained to calculate the isothermal compressibility of liquids permitting direct experimental verification of the cluster theory on the basis of acoustical measurements.
