Self-similar analysis of turbulent hydrodynamic and temperature boundary layers
A. A. Avramenko Institute for Technical Thermal Physics, National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Kiev
Abstract:
The symmetry properties of turbulent temperature and dynamic boundary layers are studied using the apparatus of the Lie group theory. Self-similar forms of independent variables and sought functions are derived for flows of the "boundary layer" type and three models of turbulent viscosity. A simple method is suggested for the calculation of turbulent flows of this type. The results are given of analytical solutions of simplified boundary layer equations in a self-similar form.
