Abstract:
The paper deals with the possibility of controlling convective heat transfer in a dielectric liquid by way of imposition of an electric field on the system. Two-dimensional numerical simulation is used to analyze the effect of a nonuniform electric field on the structure of convective motions and on the effectiveness of convective heat transfer. The possibility is studied of enhancement of convective heat transfer with deionized water and liquid nitrogen used as working liquids.
