Geometric characteristics of unsteady-state boiling crisis

Abstract: Computer simulation is employed to derive formulas for the calculation of dry area and of the length of wetting line under conditions of rapid wall boiling-up. The results are generalized using a simple theory of spontaneous generation and interaction of bubbles. The motion of the boiling-up front on a nonuniformly heated wall is considered.
