Abstract:
This work is devoted to the computational-theoretical analysis of the processes of ignition and nonstationary combustion of a foamed water-based emulsion containing heptane. The main mechanisms that determine the development of combustion of foamed emulsions in semi-open channels during ignition near the open end are formulated. The role of the initial stage of ignition in the formation of the jet flow, which determines the destruction of the foam and the subsequent unsteady development of combustion, is revealed. It is shown that the oscillating nature of the change in the burning rate is caused by the formation of secondary ignition centers of emulsion droplets on the lateral surface of the jet.
