Abstract:
A method for measuring the distribution of the local heat transfer coefficient on a flat wall is presented. The measuring wall is a printed circuit board. The copper layer of the board is etched as separate tracks. An electric current is passed along these paths, which is a source of heat flux from the wall. At the same time, each track acts as a local wall temperature meter. The temperature of the track (section of the wall) is determined by its electrical resistance. The uniform and dense arrangement of the tracks and the heating of the wall by electric current of constant power provide heat transfer with the boundary condition on the wall $q_w = \text{const}$.
