Abstract: The paper examines a specific feature of the ablation of carbon material in sublimation mode based an experimental determination of the kinetic constants of carbon oxidation in the stream of an aerodynamic facility. In this mode, the rate of the sublimation process is so small that, to a first approximation, it can be disregarded.
