Abstract: Wave formation in a laminar condensate film flowing over an isothermal substrate has been studied by the numerical simulation method. An integral model modified taking into account the phase transformation has been applied for the description of nonlinear waves in a condensate film. It has been shown that natural waves, which strongly enhance heat transfer, develop on the surface of the condensate film due to the instability of the flow. The evolution of the two-dimensional forced waves and their effect on heat transfer have been studied.
