Experimental investigation of drag and heat transfer in a turbulent flow of fluid at supercritical pressure

Abstract:
An improved method of experimental investigation of the drag in a turbulent flow of fluid at supercritical pressure in tubes has been devised. Data are obtained for the friction drag in the case of an isothermal flow of carbon dioxide in the region maximum specific heat, and also for the local and average friction and acceleration drag in a heated horizontal tube in normal and reduced heat-transfer regimes.
