Abstract:
Over 110 different process, project, and product metrics used in the current practice of software development are assembled and classified in this paper, of which only a small number is used in each particular project. Selecting, collecting, accumulating and regular analysis of these metric data allows for creation of high-quality software under the given constraints and for identifying ways to further improve the software development process in the given organization or project team through decision making based on facts rather than assumptions or opinions.
