Abstract:
This article examines various aspects of using information criteria of radiolocation for solving problems that are the subject of biometrical informatics in general and biometry in particular. Special attention is paid to the “false alarm” and sign omission factors. The meaning of these terms is discussed with regard to the problems of bioinformatics. The following aspects of the “false alarm” factor are analysed: psychological; diagnostic; “false alarm” aspect in evidence-based medicine; “false alarm” in personal identification. The features of solving biometrical problems using the minimum possible sample of observations are examined.
Keywords:
statistical information criteria, signal (indication) search, signal (indication) detection, false alarm, sign omission.
