Abstract: In educational, scientific, and organizational activities in high school and research institutes we now must actively use free and open source software. It is well suited for organization and maintenance of traditional and distant learning, as well as for design of methodical support and software needed for activities of students, post-graduates, tutors and scientific researchers. Exactly this type of software should become principal in our country.
