Spontaneous compactification of eleven-dimensional supergravity with higher-order corrections in the curvature

P. E. Brandyshev

Ivanovo State University, Ivanovo, Russia
References:
Abstract: We investigate the Freund–Rubin–Englert spontaneous compactification mechanism. We consider a low-energy effective action for a supermembrane in eleven dimensions with terms of the fourth order in curvature taken into account. From that action, we obtain equations of motion for the bosonic sector of eleven-dimensional $N=1$ supergravity. We find cosmological-type vacuum solutions corresponding to Hubble's law.
Keywords: eleven-dimensional supergravity, spontaneous compactification, cosmology.
