Abstract: Factorization of the Sato integrodifferential operator that gives the hierarchy of the Kadomtsev–Petviashvili equation is considered. The supersymmetric structure of this hierarchy is investigated by means of the factorization. A connection between the Miura transformations, Bäcklund transformations, and supersymmetry is established.
