Impossibility of centrally symmetric shock waves in vacuum in the relativistic theory of gravitation
A. V. Genk
Abstract:
It is shown that the set of equations of relativistic theory of gravity for the empty space Petrov metric allowing for centre-symmetrical shock waves results necessarily in static solution. This is an explicit demonstration of impossibility of spherical shock waves in RTG, i. e. the analogue of the Birkhoff theorem in RTG is valid rigorously in this case too.
