Nonresonance maximum for many-boson absorption
V. I. Grigor'ev
Abstract:
If the intensity of boson beams colliding with a target is sufficiently high, the most
probable event is the absorption of, not one, but several bosons, and the number of absorbed particles is of the order of the square root of the product of the number of incident particles and the probability of single-boson absorption. This effect has a purely kinematic nature and in this way differs fundamentally from maxima that have a resonance origin. The estimates made in the paper refer to different coherence conditions, which strongly influence the position of the maximum of the absorption probability distribution as a function of the number of absorbed bosons.
