Kinetics of hot electrons in quantizing magnetic fields.
II. Diffusion approximation
V. P. Kalashnikov
Abstract:
The nonequilibrium statistical operator method is used to derive a system of balance equations
for the momentum density and particle number in the energy space. This system determines
the kinetics of hot electrons in strong crossed electric and magnetic fields. For
quasielastic scattering the equations are transformed into differential equations that describe
the diffusion of electrons in the energy space; they are integrated in the lowest approximation
in the ratio of the relaxation frequency of the transverse momentum to the
frequency of the cyclotron motion.
