Quasiintersection of terms in the problem of two Coulomb centers with strongly different charges

Abstract: Asymptotic expansions for the solutions of the problem of two Coulomb centers are obtained for the case when the intercenter distance and one of the charges are simultaneously large parameters. Such a situation is realized in the physically important case of charge exchange of the hydrogen atom on a multiply charged ion. For the splitting of the terms, an asymptotic expression is obtained that agrees well with the results of exact calculation.
