Abstract:
A mechanism that generates a nonlinear wave in an anharmonic dispersive medium with two-phonon resonance transition is proposed. A surface acoustic wave propagating in a film-substrate system is considered. It is shown that for an acoustic wave of relatively low energy a breather state is formed. Phase modulation occurs. The conditions of realization of the phenomenon are given.
