Abstract: The paper provides an overview of the main events of the 47th S. B. Stechkin International Workshop-Conference on Function Theory in Memory of Corresponding Member of RAS Yu. N. Subbotin and Professor S. A. Telyakovskii, held in Kyshtym, Chelyabinsk region in face-to-face and remote formats from August 1 to 10, 2022. In addition to a summary of the conference talks, we describe the traditions and peculiarities of such workshops that have developed over more than half a century.
Keywords: function theory, best approximation of functions and operators, approximation methods, extremal problems, splines, wavelets, navigation over geodesic fields, geometric problems of approximation theory, numerical analysis.
