Tools for self-timed cells characterization

Abstract:
A procedure for characterization of the standard cells (extraction of time and electrical parameters for creating functional model) intended for self-timed circuit design is presented. It is shown that specific behavior of self-timed circuits additionally constrains characterization process as well as leads to changing the values of some parameters of a cell model. A software tool for standard cell characterization and the results of its beta testing are described.
