Abstract: We describe the physical process of particle transport and the standard and modified methods of modeling the mean free path. We also present a probabilistic proof of a modification of the maximum cross-section method.
Keywords: Monte Carlo method, modeling, probability distribution, mean free path, fictitious scattering, jump process.
