Steric effects: the problem of their quantitative assessment and manifestation in the reactivity of organoelement compounds
V. I. Galkin, R. D. Sayakhov, R. A. Cherkasov Kazan State University
Abstract:
Literature data on the methods of quantitatively assessing steric effects and their manifestation in the reactivity of various organoelement compounds is systematised. The authors' own results are considered in the light of a model of frontal steric effects and of a calculated scale of steric constants RS, the high effectiveness of which has been demonstrated in more than 100 reaction series involving organic and organoelement compounds. The bibliography contains 202 references.
