Abstract: The review covers carbon–carbon bond formation at heterocyclic ring positions by Ni- and Pd-catalysed cross-coupling, alkenylation and alkynylation. The influence of the catalyst and the metal of the organometallic component on the facility of cross-coupling has been analysed, and the limitations emphasised. The bibliography contains 228 references.
