Abstract:
The mechanism of cross-coupling of organometallic compounds with organic halides, catalysed by nickel and palladium complexes, has been examined. The key steps are discussed: oxidative addition, transmetallation, and reductive elimination. There is an analysis of the problems associated with the choice of the most effective ligands for the nickel and palladium complexes. The bibliography contains 100 references.
