Abstract: All aspects of the fixation of carbon dioxide in the presence of catalytic systems based on transition metals have been reviewed. The results of calculations to determine the nature of the complexes of the CO2 molecule with transition metal atoms and complexes have been described. The progress made in new fields such as the electrocatalytic, photoelectrocatalytic, photocatalytic, and radiation-catalytic fixation of carbon dioxide has been examined.
