Abstract: Data on synthetic routes to carbamoylmethylphosphoryl compounds are summarized. Arbuzov and Michaelis–Becker reactions are considered, as well as various methods of amidation of phosphorylacetic acids and their esters, including those using 'green' chemistry procedures. Various methods of introduction of carbamoylmethylphosphoryl moieties into calixarenes, cobalt carbollides, carboranes and other spatially pre-organized structures are demonstrated.
