Cathode materials based on perovskite-like transition metal oxides for medium-temperature solid oxide fuel cells
S. Ya. Istomin, E. V. Antipov Lomonosov Moscow State University, Faculty of Chemistry
Abstract:
The key requirements to cathode materials for medium-temperature solid oxide fuel cells are considered taking into account the mechanism of oxygen reduction at the cathode. The factors affecting the oxygen ion and electronic conductivities and the thermal expansion coefficient of perovskite-like compounds are discussed. The crystal structures, high-temperature properties and the electrochemical characteristics of the most promising cathode materials based on oxygen-deficient complex cobalt oxides and layered perovskite-like nickel and copper oxides are analyzed.
