Abstract:
Publications on the use of membrane catalysis in dehydrogenation of organic compounds and hydrogen production are analyzed and generalized. It is demonstrated that production of high-purity hydrogen requires integration of membrane reactors into the operating facilities. The steam reforming and oxidative conversion of methane and steam reforming of low alcohols seem to be the most promising processes for hydrogen production in membrane reactors.
