Abstract:
The results of studies demonstrating the potential of NMR techniques in the studies of formation of transport channels, the mechanisms of ion–polymer matrix interaction and ion and molecule mobility and diffusion in the polymeric electrolytes are analyzed and generalized. The ion exchange membranes with chemically different polymer matrices are considered. The translational mobilities of ions measured by NMR with magnetic field pulse gradient are compared with the ion conductivity data obtained by impedance spectroscopy. The primary attention is paid to the possibilities of NMR for the studies of the states of ions and molecules in electrolytes and their diffusional mobility on different spatial scales. On the basis of NMR data, ion transport mechanisms in ion exchange perfluorinated membranes are proposed. Bibliography — 182 references.
