Abstract: The key methods of synthesis of fused imidazole derivatives with bridgehead nitrogen are systematized and described. The reaction mechanisms that form the basis of synthetic routes to pyrido[1,2-a]benzimidazoles and related structures are considered. The biological properties and biological action mechanisms of fused azaheterocycles are presented. Bibliography — 152 references.
