Synthesis and properties of 1-aminocyclopropane-1,2-dicarboxylic acid and compounds incorporating it

V. P. Krasnov, M. A. Korolyova, G. L. Levit

I. Ya. Postovsky Institute of Organic Synthesis, Ural Branch of Russian Academy of Sciences, Ekaterinburg
Abstract: Methods for the synthesis of 1-aminocyclopropane-1,2-dicarboxylic acid derivatives including carbo- and heterocyclic compounds and peptides are analysed. Special attention is given to methods for the synthesis of individual stereoisomers of 1-aminocyclopropane-1,2-dicarboxylic acid derivatives based on the use of diastereoselective processes or enantiomerically pure starting compounds. The transformations of 1-aminocyclopropane-1,2-dicarboxylic acid derivatives which yield compounds with potential biological activities are considered.
