Abstract: A critical review of the published data on the mechanism of decomposition of secondary nitramines is presented. Based on the data available, it is concluded that the first step of decomposition always includes cleavage of the N — NO2 bond, which is followed by various secondary reactions and sometimes by chain processes. The effects of structures of nitramines on their stabilities are considered.
