Abstract: The available information about certain biological properties of isoprenoid is surveyed. Their role in the regulation of the vital activity of plants and insects as well as their ecological importance, consisting in ensuring the coexistence of organisms of different classes, are demonstrated. Certain structural elements essential for the manifestation of antifeedant activity are indicated.
