Abstract: The principal advances and trends in the development of the chemistry of monopyrrole compounds in the last 15 years are analysed and new approaches to the construction of the pyrrole ring and the introduction of functional groups into the latter as well as the possibilities of pyrroles as building blocks in organic synthesis are discussed.
The bibliography includes 116 references.
