Abstract: Questions concerning the influence of the density and chemical nature of the cross-links on the properties of cross-linked polyurethanes are examined. The existing ideas about the mechanism of the formation of the network structure in polyurethanes are analysed and the causes of the inhomogeneity of the three-dimensional network in cross-linked polyurethanes are discussed. The principal advances in the study of the influence of the chemical microstructure of the macrochains of polyurethanes on the microphase separation process in thermoelastoplastics are described.
