Abstract: The state of research into, and the available information about, the macroscopic and detailed mechanisms of the synthesis of methanol from carbon oxides and hydrogen, the characteristic features of the technology of the industrial process, the catalyst used, and the kinetic models of the reaction on the most important copper-containing catalysts are examined. The results of studies on the mechanism of the reactions occurring, including studies using tracer atoms, are dealt with in greatest detail.
The bibliography includes 102 references.
