Abstract: The sulphur dioxide oxidation reactions in aqueous solutions under mild conditions are examined. The kinetics of the oxidation of SO2 to H2SO4 by various oxidants are described, the reaction mechanism is discussed, and its possible practical applications are indicated.
The bibliography includes 96 references.
