Abstract: Data on methods for preparing transition metal percarboxylates, alkylperoxides, and hydroperoxides are systematically reviewed. The factors determining their stability and the most typical routes for their reactions are discussed. The ability of these compounds to act as efficient carriers of oxygen atoms to substrates of various kinds is emphasised using numerous examples.
The bibliography includes 179 references.
