Abstract: The review surveys the results of studies on the photophysical and photochemical reactions of triplet exciplexes and triplet-excited molecular complexes which are stable in the ground state. These two groups of excited molecular compounds are compared and the influence of the electronic structure on the kinetics and mechanisms of the elementary photoprocesses is analysed. The formation reactions and properties of the triplet exciplexes of various classes of organic substances are examined in detail.
