Abstract: Literature data on the kinetic stability of mononuclear metallocene and diarene derivatives of transition metals are described systematically and discussed. A relation between the reactivity of the π-complexes in the thermal decomposition reaction and their structure (the nature of the central metal atom, the σ-substituent, and the π-ligand) has been discovered, surface effects and the role of the adsorption of organometallic compounds in pyrolysis are examined, and problems of macrokinetics are discussed.
The bibliography includes 106 references.
