Abstract: The essential features of the method of polymeric reagents in relation to peptide synthesis are described. The polymer-activators have been classified in terms of the type of activating groups. The procedures used in the synthesis of polymer-activators and polymeric reagents are given and the principal aspects of the employment of the method of polymeric reagents in the synthesis of peptides of various structure as well as the trends and prospects for the development of the method are discussed.
