Thiophene 1,1-dioxides as unique building blocks in modern organic synthesis and materials chemistry

Abstract: Data on the synthesis, reactivity features and the key chemical transformations of thiophene 1,1-dioxides are summarised and described systematically. The attention is focused on recent achievements in the chemistry of thiophene dioxides concerning both their practical use and theoretical studies.
