Abstract: The principles of the highly effective reaction chromato-mass-spectrometric method, based on the use of chemical reactions of the test specimens directly in the reaction system of a chromato-mass-spectrometer, are examined. The possibilities of the method in the determination of the structures of organic compounds and in the study of the mechanisms of dissociative ionisation, heterogeneous-catalytic reactions, and high-molecular-weight compounds are demonstrated.
