Abstract:
Structural studies on the following types of chemical reactions in organic crystals published after 1977 are considered: dimerisation, redimerisation, polymerisation, asymmetric synthesis, chemical reactions in clathrate compounds, topotactic redox reactions in intercalation systems, and crystal–gas reactions. A common feature of all the processes examined is the influence of the crystal environment of the molecules of the initial substance on the mechanism of the reaction and the character of its product (the topochemical factor). The bibliography includes 241 references.
