Abstract: This review deals with organoelemental polymers containing the elements of various Groups in the Periodic System. The major role of these polymers in many fields of modern technology and national economy is demonstrated. The methods of synthesis of organoelemental polymers used at present and the prospects for the development of this field in the future are considered. It is shown that the heterounit structure of the polymer is a common phenomenon in the chemistry of macromolecular compounds, characteristic also of organoelemental polymers. It has been established that the presence of stable isotopes in polymer macromolecules is one of the causes of the appearance of the heterounit structure.
