Abstract: The ageing and stabilisation of elastomers are considered from the standpoint of chemical physics. A general method for the fitting to the kinetic curves of relations characterising the ageing of elastomers under the influence of oxygen, light, ozone, and mechanical stresses is discussed. Different principles and procedures for the stabilisation of elastomers are analysed.
