Abstract: Structural studies on metallocarbaboranes (MCB) are surveyed and modern theoretical ideas about the electronic structure of cluster and particularly polyhedral MCB systems are discussed. The characteristic features of the geometry of the polyhedra in specific MCB are examined in connection with the specific features of their electronic structure.
