Kinetics of the Oxidation of Mixtures of Organic Substances in the Liquid Phase

Abstract: The available literature data on the kinetics of the co-oxidation of organic substances by oxygen in the liquid phase are surveyed. The methods for the determination of the rate constants for reactions involving chain propagation by peroxy-radicals in the oxidation of mixtures are analysed and the experimental kinetic parameters of the co-oxidation of binary mixtures of organic compounds of different classes are presented. The general rules governing the kinetics of oxidation reactions in mixtures are considered and the methods whereby the rates and selectivities of the oxidation reactions of individual mixture components can be regulated are demonstrated.
