Abstract: The decomposition by electron impact of saturated acyclic and cyclic (mono-, bi-, tri-, tetra-, penta-, and hexa-cyclic) hydrocarbons having condensed, bridged, and single-bonded structures is examined and the reaction mechanisms, the characteristics of the decomposition due to structural and stereochemical factors, and the possibilities for the identification of the hydrocarbons by analysing their mass spectra are discussed.
The bibliography includes 204 references.
